Red, Yellow and Green category in KSA – A bitter truth about Saudization!

Saudi Arabia has now defined 3 different categories for firms. Green, Yellow and Red. The private firms in Saudi Arab will be awarded these categories on their performance in employing Saudi’s. According to a rough estimate more than half million Saudi’s are unemployed and the number of legal expats working in private firms exceeds 8 million.

The firms that fall in Red category won’t be allowed to extend the work-visas of their expat employees whereas the firms falling in Green category will be allowed to do so. If a company wants to earn a green category status then it will have to maintain a rich percentage of Saudi employees in it. Otherwise it will fall into the red category.
